Getting to / from St. Petersburg by plane

St. Petersburg Airports

Pulkovo I and Pulkovo II, both are located outside of the city to the south of St. Petersburg. Pulkovo II is the international airport. That's where your plane will land if you come from abroad.

Pulkovo 1 Airport.

Pulkovo 2 Airport.

The international airport located closer to St. Petersburg, about 5 km from Pulkovo 1 airport (or 10 minute drive). The airport has all the necessary facilities, including shops, banks, ATMs, currency exchange, airlines offices, business center, luggage storage (opened 24 hours).The nearest hotel is near metro Moskovskaya (30 mins from the airport). Public Transport to/from the Airports.

You can take a bus or a shuttle (marshrutka) #13 (Pulkovo 2) or #39 (Pulkovo 1), which will take you from the airport to metro Moskovskaya (in 30-40 mins) and back. Then it should take about 25-30 mins by metro to the center. There is also a shuttle (marshrutka) #K-213 from Sennaya Ploschad metro to Pulkovo 2 airport.

By Taxi. A taxi from the airport costs about $25-$40 US, depending on the time of the day and your ability to negotiate. You can save money if you take a bus or shuttle #39 to Moskovskaya metro, and then take a taxi to the city from there.
By Car. Both Pulkovo airports are located to the south of St. Petersburg, Pulkovo II is closer to the city, than Pulkovo I. To get to the city by car, you'll need to go on Pulkovskoe shosse (E95, M20), which will then change to Moskovsky Prospekt.Moskovsky Propspekt leads directly to Sadovaya street and Nevsky prospekt.It is possible to rent a car in Pulkovo airport.
By Train. There's no train directly from the airport to the city, but in about 2km there's a trainstation 'Aeroport'. You can take a suburban train (elektrichka) from there and arrive to Baltiysky railway station.
